Approximately 16,000 visitors tour this replica of the Washington Monument and enjoy the re-enactment of the battle that won Texas' independence from Mexico. Held on the grounds of the San Jacinto Monument, this dramatic battle is the centerpiece of the Festival.
Sponsored by the San Jacinto Museum of History, the festival is a full day of entertainment, vendors, food, family activities, cultural exhibitors, games, music and dancing on 3 stages featuring country-western bands, flamenco dancers, Native American presentations & square dancers. Fans can take part in: make-and-take activities, crafts for children, a children’s train, a petting zoo, a popular medicine wagon show, birds of prey; weavers, spinners, blacksmiths and other demonstrators; and dozens of unique hand-crafted items for sale.
